The children had a fantastic time today jumping in muddy puddles, collecting twigs for the fire and then they listened to the story of the leaf man. When they got back to camp the children made their own leaf man too – we hope they don’t blow away

It was very wet and windy today so the children made some wind twirlers – just a plastic bottle, scissors, string and permanent markers were required.
The children were keen to see the Magic tree after the storm as there was a discussion among the children about whether the wind had blown it down. The children described the rain as ‘big rain!’ and the wind made ‘a big dinosaur noise’
The children are all wrapped up ready to enjoy the autumn weather. They shared a story about Leaf Man and collected leaves and used them to make a natural mobile
Misoshi a Ghanaian storyteller came to visit our children and families to help us celebrate harvest. She played her drum, showed us how to carry a drum and a basket on her head, carried one of the children in a sling on her back and shared with us the story of Handa’s Surprise.
Take a look at the photos – share them with the children and see what they can remember about our special day.
Thank you also for all the generous harvest food you donated. This was collected by The Well food bank, Wolverhampton
The children have been exploring how the changes in the weather give them lots of new things to discover – so many leaves, what beautiful colours, what great muddy puddles, being able to write our names in the mist
Our outdoor explorers have been learning how to keep themselves safe when they are out exploring
