Children get busy in the mud kitchen

Having spent a lot of time fascinated about how the children used water in sand play we took the plunge to offer a real mud kitchen. These are the first few weeks of exploration – notice how from discovering the loam soil itself, to exploring what happens when you add some water, to it how it offers the children such rich learning experiences. This is like being let loose in your mom’s kitchen with all the ingredients in the cupboard and the cooking utensils.

Look out for the budding chemists, chefs and investigators in the photos above. Also note the general well being these children display. This is real learning in a real environment – who could ask for more
